20 consecutive years of active duty military service as a Senior Medical Representative for the United States Navy, Hospital Corpsman First Class Petty Officer (HM1), Damen Johnson is a highly decorated veteran with 11 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. As a 5-time Sailor of the Year recipient with award recognitions from two former United States Presidents, Damen is widely known for two phrases, 

“Saving Lives One Record at A Time” and “Fast & Efficient”. 

Many of his accolades from the military are not combat-related. HM1 Johnson is known for innovative solutions, best practices, and countless flawless inspection results throughout his military career. He has successfully processed millions of dollars in legal and medical claims with zero discrepancies, as well as affixed his signature to thousands of career advancements for service members via contract enlistments, separations, and compliance notifications. His record of excellence and service to our Country contains one special ingredient, “Attention to Detail”. 

Damen arrived in the Commonwealth of Virginia for his final tours of military duty in 2013. His presence has been felt throughout Southwest, Virginia (SWVA) as a community leader. He founded the nonprofit organization, BRHHM Sports 501(c)3. B.asketball R.equires H.eart H.ardwork & M.indset BRHHM (brim). Through BRHHM Sports, his activity in the community has impacted the lives of hundreds of student-athletes. His organization has also afforded him the opportunity to motivationally speak to many of our grade-school youth across SWVA, as well as, juvenile detention centers, Roanoke Rescue Mission, local churches, and beyond. His journey has been recognized by the Mayor of Roanoke, as he was called upon to assist the Roanoke Police Department and Community Organizers with the launch of the Lea Youth Outdoor Basketball League (LYOB) for inner city youth. He is currently the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach for Roanoke Catholic School, as well as, a Professional / Collegiate Skill-Development Coach, and Entrepreneur.

Damen Johnson is a high character positive notary public in the SWVA community.
